PRESENTATION
Yuan is a game of reflection and strategy, where players take on the role of a Chinese or Mongolian general to take control of temples and establish their dominance.
Each general programs his actions behind his screen, reveals them and carries them out on the central board simultaneously. Once colonization, fortification and battle have been completed, each general adjusts his province and temple control levels to prepare for the next round!
As the number of temples you need to control to win the game decreases with each turn, victory becomes more and more attainable for everyone… But the art of war requires very precise management of your army, colonists and fortifications – can you find the right balance?!
Program your actions behind the screen
Taking into account your opponents’ possible actions, program your development, fortification or military actions secretly behind your screen on a province of the territory. Gold or provinces already under your control enable you to take more powerful actions!
Reveal your programming and carry out your turn actions
Each general reveals his programmed actions and carries them out on the target province simultaneously, placing villages or towns, fortifications or armies. A priority mechanism in ties ensures rapid resolution of any conflicts that may arise.
Adjusting provinces and controlled temples
Each general can now modify the position of the control markers for the different province types, Rice Fields, Forests and Mines, granting them additional resources to perform powerful actions. The same applies to the temple marker. Whoever controls the number of temples defined by the current turn wins!

(China Yuan rules only)
Clan Gouijan (Yellow): starting Chão -1. When a fortified or indestructible City is built, all adjacent undefended enemy Provinces become free again. But your fortified Cities will only have a Defense of 1.
When we program a fortification and an attack, do we fortify before and after the attack?
No. When we program an attack, we start with this action in phase 4 (Attack). And only then, if the attack is successful, can we fortify.
(Remember that the province we’re targeting for attack doesn’t belong to us yet, so we can’t fortify it! ^^)
Attack level III: When I win the first battle, I perform the additional force I attack with my armies?
No, it’s a free additional attack by force I not represented by an army (a virtual attack, you might say! ^^)! But this force attacks every province adjacent to the initial province targeted. Even if it doesn’t take a province, it can kill an army present on the province (which is outside a rampart, for example)!
